# about
Renaud advises >commit and its portfolio founders on technical and management topics. He is the creator of Nessus, the vulnerability scanner he first shipped at 17 and that became the de facto standard used across the security world. In 2002 he co-founded Tenable (NASDAQ: TENB), where he served as CTO & CPO, and helped grow it into one of the defining companies in cybersecurity, through to its IPO. Along the way he designed NASL, the scripting language behind Nessus, authored several patents in network scanning and security, and sat on the CVE editorial board. Since stepping back from Tenable, he's stayed close to the field as a board member, advisor and an angel backing security founders.
